My name is Rodolfo “DJ” Siller, aka Rudy, aka, DJ ROTAKU
Born in Texas, I was raised both in McAllen and Monterrey, so I have always been surrounded by many Latin influences my entire life. Since I was a teenager, I have always had aspirations to become a musician/artist. Diving down the vast rabbit-hole that is music, I became a producer at a young age, listening to many different kinds of genres. I grew up listening to 90’s-2000’s Hip-Hop/Pop just as much as I did Latin music, Cumbia, Salsa, and Bachata styles. Most of my early music taste stemmed from my close friends' and family’s favorite artists/songs. Now as an Open Format DJ, I have come to master a plethora of different genres.
My passion for music has always been there, it’s almost impossible to think of a reason for it. Either for myself or for hundreds of people, performing my craft is an experience I live for. Every ROTAKU event is treated like a concert, with great vibes, and great music!
I was born in the 90s and always incorporate my favorite movies and shows in my art, especially when producing music or film. I am a huge anime and movie buff and will always be up for talking about my favorite pieces of media. When I am not DJ’ing, I typically spend time at home with my 3 cats or with my friends
My most notable gigs include working in the heart of San Antonio’s Downtown area; at the Henry B. Convention Center, both the Skyline and St Anthony Hotel, and especially the Witte Museum!! Some of my awesome clients even include; Marc Anthony, Ulta Beauty, the San Antonio Zoo, and of course a special mention to ALL of my amazing wedding clients!!
Looking back, I definitely have to give my close friends credit for helping me along my journey to the artist I am now. From using equipment at Guitar Center or friends’ places to practice my DJ skills, to learning about beat making/matching with my musically-inclined friends, I owe most of it to them (and of course YouTube tutorials). Special shoutout to my mentor and good friend, Rey Tamayo, for inspiring me to follow my dreams.
